    Hi,

I have a fresh install of Pydio 6. When I share a folder and create a new user to share with, that user cannot log in. Poking around a little, I found out that the passwords of users created while sharing are stored as plain text in the database (table ajxp_users). Maybe that’s connected to the text field for entering the password for the new user also being a plain text field instead of a password field where characters are usually masked?

When I log in as administrator and change the user’s password from the settings page, the password in the database is updated to an encrypted/hashed one and the login works.

    Any help?

    Please set it to “Yes”.
this option should be deprecated. It’s useless if you’re using https, which you should anyway.

Thanks, it now works! Must say that the option is a bit counter-intuitive, setting “Transmit Clear Pass” to Yes causes passwords to be encrypted, and No causes them to be stored in plain text.

Anyway, thanks for the quick help!
